When I kook at the students at the 1,800 students at Westside High School, I never thought the school would have a representative competing in this national competition. I'm proud of Phoenicia Davis for representing us. Please read the following article.



FIVE STUDENTS ARE FINALISTS IN NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Five students from Middle Georgia have been named 2008 National Achievement Scholarship semifinalists, according to a news release from the scholarship program.
More than 1,600 black high school seniors in good academic standing with high SAT college entrance exam scores are competing for 800 scholarships worth $2.5 million.
The midstate students are, Courtney McCormick, Crisp County High School in Cordele; Phoenicia Davis, Westside High School in Macon; Melinda Laughlin, Houston County High in Warner Robins; Gina Degraphenreid and Jenee Parlor, both of Warner Robins High.
